Guest blogger: UMI

Situated in the heart of Ras Al Khaima, on the 1st floor of the magnificent Waldorf Astoria Hotel, UMI, is a favorite among visitors and locals. From the moment you walk into its long Japanese themed corridor, you can feel the warmth and undeniable charming atmosphere.

The superb setting is a delightful marriage of antique Japanese pieces and modern luxuries; from the crystal glasses to the unique Portuguese cutlery.

Two live stations, one for sushi and another for main dishes; bring you closer to your feast with multiple animated performances from the chefs.

The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering starters. We had some scrumptious crab salad accompanied by some light and fresh salted edamame. The main courses consisted of a variety of heavenly sushi rolls and outstanding Miso cod.    It all was followed by a delicious chocolate mousse accompanied by a flavourful scoop of chocolate ice cream.

And since no birthday is complete without proper cake, a triple chocolate mini cake was served with an abundant amount of love and appreciation. The great customer service left us in awe as the Japanese chef de cuisine, Yukitaka Kitade, visited our table to insure that everything was served to perfection! And indeed it was!

Narendra Negi, the assistant outlet manager, insured, and as he made rounds in the restaurant, that everyone was enjoying the unique experience UMI offered.

In a nutshell, great is an understatement for the level of professionalism and outstanding food we had at UMI.

This place is highly recommended by foodie, who knows what she is looking for on her table when she sits to eat! And UMI doesn’t disappoint!

Next time you are at RAK, make sure you book yourself a table or a bar seat!
